Free ain’t Free

Few things, if anything, in life are free. So it kind of irritates me when I see other websites pimping “free affiliate websites”. Especially when they know it isn’t.

When it comes to business, there really is no free lunch. So I don’t understand why would be marketers often bite the line for free affiliate websites without looking into what the price might really be.

Here’s the deal.

Companies that want you to promote their products and services are not giving you a free website, even if they tell you that it is. This is even more true to for the affiliate marketing sites that claim to give you a free shopping mall where you will get paid for any sales from a variety of different products.

If you were to actually do a little research, you would probably be shocked to find out that someone is cutting the commission substantially from your hard work. This is your payment for your “free affiliate website“. So let’s say that you have made a sale that gives you a $20 commission via your free site. If you had gone directly to the source you might have pulled in $40 for the same sale.

No big deal, right?

Wrong. Because over time you are losing way more than you have gained from the few things they have given you. All they have really done is given you some hosting, which is ultra cheap, and some sort of website platform. Which is also often free with web hosting.

Understand this folks. If you buy web hosting you are often given a free domain name, and often some really great tools that will build your website for you. For ten lousy bucks a month or less.

Now that twenty bucks you paid them for your free website is starting to look a little expensive, right? Like I said, free ain’t free, boys and girls.

Very seldom is something done on the internet that is entirely philanthropic. Nope. The web is one big advertisement, and we’re all looking to make money. So before you jump into some free offer feet first, make sure you know what the hidden fees really are. They might be taking hundreds, maybe even thousands of dollars, out of your pocket.
